Why I built shayoink.

I wanted to solve specific challenges I faced as a cocktail enthusiast and frequent host. Recipe books are great but I found them impractical to reference in the moment when mixing.

When hosting, I realized a real gap: I wanted to offer these drinks to my guests, but didn't have a quick and easy way for them to view what I had available. I stood up a basic website, but updating it was cumbersome and it had to be hosted on a device with a browser.

These were some of the challenges I wanted to solve for. If you're reading this and have faced similar challenges, I hope you'll find simplicity and delight in using shayoink.

Repeating your drink options to every guest, or writing them out by hand every time you host.

The display. One toggle puts any part of your library on the TV, with enough customization to match any vibe.

One long scrolling list of every recipe you've ever saved.

Shelves. Your library is organized your way, and anything you're not using collapses out of sight.

Digging through a recipe book mid-party.

Bartender mode. Everything on display, and nothing else.

A recipe-card view when you only need the specs, full instructions when you're less familiar.

A quick way to move ingredients from a recipe to cart then to inventory.

Single-tap inventory management. One tap moves an ingredient from a recipe to the cart, and one more moves it to inventory when it's home.

Typing out every ingredient and instruction just to get a recipe into your library.

AI import. It reads a book page, a screenshot, or a photo, and fills in the drink for you.

A social side to encourage sharing that's not a discussion board.

Riffs. A riff leads with what changed and why, threaded under the original drink.

And when you post to Rooms, sharing to your socials is a couple of extra taps, not a retype.

An intuitive way to build your flavor profile.

A palate that builds itself. React to drinks in Rooms and your profile sharpens on its own.

Built from your reactions, on your device, only if you turn it on.

Digging through threads to figure out what people actually like.

Trending. The drinks people love rise to the top, and one tap yoinks a winner into your library.

That's shayoink. Free on iPhone, and your menu casts to Apple TV, Fire TV, and Chromecast.

If you host, I built this for us.
